Located about 24 miles west of Washington D.C., Chantilly is an affluent community with stately Colonials, mature oaks, maples, and glistening streams and creeks. With 24,301 residents as of 2020, the community encompasses 12 square miles in western Fairfax County, just seven miles from the Dulles International Airport.

Named after a 19th-century mansion and farm property on the northern side of Route 50 (formerly the Lee-Jackson Memorial Highway), Chantilly is steeped in culture and history. Once home to the Dogue Native American tribe, Chantilly was settled by European plantation owners in the late 18th century.

Known as the site of the Battle of Chantilly, or the Battle of Ox Hill, during the Civil War, Chantilly has come a long way from its humble agricultural roots. Today, it has a robust economy supported by technology and healthcare. It is also home to major corporations like Boeing and Northrop Grumman as well as a number of tech start-ups.
